Origin and diffusion

This breed ‘Trimeticcia’ from Segezia has a very recent origin and can be considered a’synthetic’ breed coming out of the crossbreeding with three different breeds, one Italian, Gentile di Puglia, and two foreigners, the French Ile de France and the German Württemberg. It has been made up at the Experimental Institute for Zootechny of Segezia, province of Foggia (Puglia).It is reared in Puglia (Tavoliere delle Puglie) and Molise.

Morphological and economic characteristics

Size: large
Height at the withers:
- Male: 90-110 cm
- Female: 70-75 cm
Weight:
- Male: 65-70 kg
- Female: 60-65 kg

White coat, no horns in both sexes
Three attitude breed: meat, milk and wool.
