Origin and diffusion

Area of origin: Bari and Foggia Provinces, Apulia Region, southern Italy.
The breed is adapted to live on arid soils. Altamurana come down from the ovines of Asian race or Syrian of the Sanson and just from the stock of Zackei.

- Female: 65 cm
Weight:

- Female: 39 kg

Uni coloured: white, occasionally dark spots on face.
Aptitude production: milk.
