Origin and diffusion

This breed comes from Istria (once belonging to Italy, then ex-Jogoslavia), it has been crossbred with alpine breeds.
It is bred in the province of Gorizia, (in 1983 there were just over 100 heads).

Morphological and economic characteristics

Height at the withers:
- Female: 60 cm
Weight:
- Female: 50 kg

Plain white coat. Dairy and meat breed, the kids are slaughtered at 10-15 kg.
