Origin and economic characteristics

It has ancient origins and its ancestors were present at the Roman Imperial times. It is the biggest Italian breed. A bellicose temperament, it is not very friendly, it has a heavy flight.

Morphological characteristics

Mean weight:
- Male: till 1,3 kg
- Female: 0,9 kg

Length: 55 cm, wing opening: 110-120 cm.
A strong head with a big slightly curved beak; quite developed nasal caruncles, white and smooth. White iris. Flesh-coloured naked tarsus. Various colours.
