Origin and economic characteristics

Romagnolo was selected by the end of the 19th century. It is a large size dove.

Morphological characteristics

Mean weight: 0,75-0,85 kg.

Quite short, this pigeon has a heavy flight, sleek feathers, a compact body. A smooth head of average size. Quite large eyes, orange iris, black in the examples, white eyelids.
The beak is thin, delicate, straight; the nasal caruncles are underdeveloped and white. A strong neck, a large back, strong wings, closed horizontal tail, strong claws with long abundant feathers (up to 10-12 cm) on the tarsus. Various colours.
