Italians breeds

Triganino Modenese
Italian Poultry breeds - Pigeons

Origin and economic characteristics

It is a very old pigeon breed probably dating back to the 15th century, which had been reared in Modena (Emilia Romagna) for many centuries. Since the beginning of the 19th cent it was applied as a messenger over short-medium distances, but it was mostly employed for a specific flight game. It may come from crossings between indigenous and eastern pigeons.

Morphological characteristics

Small size, elegant shape, a lively temperament, a fast flight.
Various colours, there are two types: Gazzi and Schietti.
