Origin and economic characteristics

According to some  authors, this breed could be the result of a crossing between the Polish (Occhialone or ‘barbo’ in English) and Reggianino towards the end of 19th century. Then some blood of the Belgian Viaggiatore (traveller) would be introduced.

Morphological characteristics

Quite a big head, a high forehead and a quite long neck. It has a strong beak of average length. Eye caruncles made up of 2/3 thin rings.
A large breast, short wings, but large at shoulder level. A short tail that overcomes the wings of 2 cm. Various colours.
