It comes from Sardinia, where its presence is very old. Surely the ancient Sardinian Punic population increased the breed with the view of applying these animals in agriculture and carriage.
Lively and rustic, it was largely used as burden and farm labour. It is highly appreciated in Italy and abroad as well. A lively temperament and no special need.
Height to the withers (30 months): from 80 to 115 cm
